Pickle Me Walnuts Press Release
Pickle Me Walnuts 24 June 2026, Sharpham Park, Somerset

A private midsummer event marking Britain's green walnut harvest, hosted by Roger Saul, founder of Mulberry and Britain's leading certified organic walnut grower.
24 June is Midsummer's Day. In the old English food calendar it is also Pickled Walnut Day: the point in the year when green walnuts must be harvested before the inner shell hardens and pickling becomes impossible.
Roger Saul planted 300 walnut trees at Sharpham Park in 2003, after discovering a 16th-century monk's lunch sealed in the wall of the estate's manor house. His first true harvest came in 2022. By 2025 the crop had reached record levels, making Sharpham Park Britain's leading certified organic walnut grower.
This summer, Roger marks the green harvest with a gathering of craft food partners: Olives Et Al for large-scale brining, and Pump Street Chocolate for a limited-edition green walnut bar.

A small number of press places are available. Please contact us by 6th June with regards to covering the story or to request attendance.
