BBC Countryfile Films us at Sharpham Park

We had the pleasure of welcoming Anita Rani and the BBC Countryfile team to Sharpham Park this autumn for a very special episode celebrating all things seasonal, sustainable, and homegrown.

The focus? Our first ever commercial harvest of British organic walnuts – a landmark moment for us after years of nurturing these beautiful trees on our Somerset estate. It’s been a journey rooted in regeneration, biodiversity, and a deep respect for the land. To see the walnut groves thriving and finally bearing fruit in abundance is nothing short of magical.

The Countryfile Autumn Special captures this milestone, with Anita joining us to see the harvest in action. It was a joy to share the story behind our organic approach and why we believe British-grown walnuts have a bright (and delicious) future.

We were also joined by the brilliant Cat Lewis, a textile artist who collects walnut husks to create natural dyes and inks for her sustainable fabric work. It’s always inspiring to see how the by-products of farming can be turned into beautiful, useful things by creatives like Cat. You can read her article about that here.

If you missed the episode, do catch up on iPlayer – and thank you to the Countryfile team for shining a spotlight on British-grown nuts, sustainable farming, and all the passion that goes into it.
